My son who's autism is severely speech delayed and has good gross motor skills learned to balance on a two wheeler over the summer of 2008.  A logical progression of steps from highly assisted balancing to unassisted riding were facilitated by his learning by doing.  I believe that the method I have used with my eight year old son is tranferable to other children with Autism who have good gross motor skills.  For this reason I have put together a DVD and supporting document to assist other parents in teaching their children with autism to ride a bicycle.  If you are interested in obtaining a copy of this DVD that shows the detailed steps I used to teach my son to ride please click on the DVD link on the left.
